Are Referral sites like Angies List and Whitneys Variety worth joining

Referral sites are an important part of many peoples lives today, but are they worth the money to join. The grandfather of referral sites is Angies List. Angie Hicks is the owner who started out knocking on doors to get a group of people together with 1 common goal in mind. She wanted to make up a list of local contractors so consumers got quality work at a reasonable price. The concept was good and the cost to join was reasonable so the idea took off.

Not only does this service make it easy to find quality contractors, it also saves you time and money by weeding out all the con men. Because it is a members only community with honest reviews,  nobody can cheat and give good or bad reviews that are not deserved.

One thing I did notice about Angieslist is they don't mention anything about automotive service centers and car dealers. Where do you turn when you need to buy a car or get some service done on your vehicle. I did some searches and all I found was automotive companies promoting their own services. If a person wants a quality automotive sales or service company where do they turn.
I have been in the automotive sales and service business most of my life and witnessed first hand what these companies put people through. Many sales and service managers use terms like knock their heads off or get them out of here they are cock roaches. If you were a fly on the wall you would never set foot in some of these places again. What many places do is try to belittle people and cheat them out of their hard earned money. They use different tactics to trick them into paying too much or sell them things they don't need.

I decided to start a business to keep the consumer from being taken advantage of and treated with dis respect. I know first hand what goes on and how you the consumer can protect yourself. The little bit of money you spend on a membership can save you time, money and a lot of headaches.
